Chicago is a musical that takes place during Prohibition-era Chicago. John Kander wrote the music and Fred Ebb wrote the lyrics. The show had its Broadway debut on June 3, 1975 at the 46th Street Theatre. That production was closed in 1977 but a revival opened in 1996.
