The Minnesota Timberwolves were founded in 1989 and were an expansion team. In the early years they struggled often but then saw much success after acquiring Kevin Garnett in the 1995 NBA Draft. Currently the Timberwolves call The Target Center home. Construction on the arena began in 1988 and it was then opened in 1990.
